Hi,
The Data Extract Default settings are specific to the Source SYstems (SBIW ->General Setting->Dat Load Transfer Parameters ) These settings are referred to, at the time of extraction form particular Data Source from the source system.
These settings are Global Source system Settings.
The other data transfer settings is what we see through schedular option in the info package. These settings are are maintained by the system and can be changed for a particular infopackage. In your case this change will improve the performance.
Go inside infopackage on top left>Scheduler -> Default DataSource Settings for Data Transfer> This will open the window for settings for sending data.
change the settings for this field to the number which you want.Following are the parameters you can change for performance improvement.
Maximum size of a data packet in kByte -->Its not exactly number of records but controlling the size of the package controls the lines in the pcakage. But reducing package size may increase the time of data load and affect the system performance. So use an appropriate size.
Maximum number of dialog processes for sending data--> here you can increase the number of dialog process.
Number of data packets per Info-IDoc
Also this gives you a choice you canb revert to the original settings after your load is done, in case you want to revert.
For more details and getting some relevent info please see the oss note 409641 and 417307.
