I believe this scenario used to be referred to as "slow moving items".
We used this quite a few years ago at a client... you can obtain this via a MultiProvider over your InfoObject and your InfoCube. You'll have to work with "constant selections" (well explained in the Help) for the characteristics that restrict your "key figure(s)" associated with your InfoObject (most likely a counter). These characteristics basically are all the characteristics of the InfoCube that you're using in the report. You have to assign them the "null" values (as they will all be empty for the InfoObject).
